ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsible for determining short and long-range objectives for assigned units, ensuring assigned projects or deadlines are accomplished, and working with the Plant Manager in meeting plant goals and objectives. Management activities the implementation of plant policies and procedures, enforcement of company policies and procedures, coordination of work unit programs, budgets, producing quality product and coaching, development and discipline of team members.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
• Ensures the goals and objectives established by the Plant Manager are communicated to team members
• Administers plant policies and procedures that support product line and ensures MSHA compliance.
• Works in conjunction with Quarry Manager to track performance against established objectives and takes immediate corrective action to assure goals are realized.
• Directing hourly workforce in plant areas including the crushers, conveyors, and quarry related duties
• May be required to work a rotating shift schedule and weekend work
• Monitor Plant operations on a daily basis to ensure production and QC standards are maintained. Take corrective action when deficiencies occur.
• Identifies process improvements and makes recommendations
• Builds constructive and effective relationships with internal and external customers, and is committed to meeting customer needs in a timely and accurate manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• 3 years experience in above ground aggregate operations.
• Degree in construction technology, geology, business or related field preferred.
• 3 years supervisory experience desired
• Proficiency with MS Office (spreadsheets). SAP experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving skills and proven ability to drive for results.
• Excellent people management skills
• Disciplined and process-oriented
• Demonstrable understanding of safety in a mining environment
Additional Requirements:
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required
to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
