Traffic Control Supervisor Position
Qualifications:
Certified Traffic Control Supervisor with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in traffic management and road safety.
In-depth knowledge of traffic control plans, regulations, and industry best practices.
Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and supervising teams in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
Clean Driving Record with a strong commitment to safety and responsibility.
Bilingual (Fluent in [Language(s)]) with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse work crews, clients, and the general public.
ATSSA Certified (American Traffic Safety Services Association) or equivalent certification.
Key Responsibilities:
Traffic Control Operations: Oversee and implement traffic control measures for construction, roadwork, and public events to ensure the safety of workers, drivers, and pedestrians.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal traffic safety regulations, including proper signage, barricades, and lane closures.
Coordination: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and local authorities to plan and execute traffic control strategies, minimizing disruptions to traffic flow.
Team Leadership: Supervise and train traffic control personnel, ensuring that all team members are familiar with safety protocols and operational procedures.
Equipment Management: Monitor and adjust traffic control devices such as cones, signs, and barriers to ensure effective traffic management, particularly in response to changing conditions or unforeseen issues.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to accidents, incidents, or roadwork delays, directing traffic and implementing traffic control measures to prevent further hazards.
Inspections & Audits: Conduct routine inspections of traffic control setups to ensure they meet safety standards, and perform audits to maintain compliance.
Dispatch & Timekeeping: Manage and dispatch crews, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and adherence to schedules. Review timesheets for accuracy and compliance.
