Job Title: Machine Assembler
Job Description
We are looking to hire a machine assembler for our South Bend, IN location. In this role, you will be fastening joints and seams in sheet metal, using fasteners and drivers, and ensuring work meets quality specifications and safety guidelines. You will be required to work on ladders and be exposed to heights. This position involves working in a team environment, and previous construction experience translates well.
Responsibilities
Screwing sheet metal panels together
Installing insulation
Using power tools (drills, grinders, plasma cutting equipment, etc.)
Laying out, measuring, and marking dimensions and reference lines on material
Utilizing a calculator and tape measure
Fastening seams and joints together with bolts, rivets, caulks, and metal drive clips to assemble components into products
Drilling holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets
Assembling and fitting pre-fabricated parts to form subassemblies
Maintaining cleanliness of work area
Essential Skills
Experience with assembly, sheet metal, hand tools, and power tools
Mechanical assembly skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Experience with power tools such as impacts, grinders, drills, and saws
Proficiency in reading tape measures, levels, and squares
Previous mechanical assembly experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous fabrication shop experience
Experience with installation assembly, fabrication, construction, and sheet metal fabrication

Work Environment
This role is based in a fabrication shop environment that can be darker, dirty, and loud. You will be working with large control panels that sit on top of commercial buildings. The hours are 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, with additional hours possible on Fridays and Saturdays.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
