Dowhas an exciting opportunity for aProcess Engineerat our site inCharleston, WV!The EOEG Licensing Group within Dow Industrial Solutions is responsible for (1) delivering technology via new build PDPs (Process Design Packages) and capacity expansion studies (2) supporting sales (3) driving METEOR™ EOEG (ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol) technology improvements. The Process Engineering Role supports a range of activities including the following:

  • Sales support – technical proposals, etc.

  • Technology Execution – PDP Development, Capacity Expansion Studies, Post-PDP Support in Detail design/construction, etc.

  • Technology Improvement – flowsheet optimization

About you

Be part of a process engineering team primarily consisting of Dow employees, contractor engineering resources and subcontracted scope in the delivery of METEORTM EOEG Licensed Technology Process Design Packages (PDP’s) to new clients. As a Process Engineer, you will have multi-functional interactions and the following responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the assigned PDP parts are delivered on time and are of high quality by verifying the various deliverables are consistent within and across the process parts.

  • PDP deliverables include, but not limited to, PFDs, MEBs, P&IDs, Major Equipment Specifications, Minor Equipment Specifications, Relief Device Performance Specifications, Control System Data Sheets, Logic Descriptions, Logic Diagrams, Line Lists, Design and Operating Considerations, and Health and Safety Considerations.

  • Use of ASPEN Simulator will be required along with HTRI and Dow tools (pump tool, etc.). Technology Training (EOEG Academy) and Just in time tool training is provided for PDP team members.

  • Ensure that the process design is safe with respect to design pressure/temperature and meets LOPA and other EH&S requirements.

  • Participate in PFD, P&ID, Equipment, 3D Model, and/or HAZOP reviews in support of licensee basic/detailed design activities.

  • Help maintain / improve the Evergreen PDP and associated tools for streamlined PDP delivery. Improvements may include input from previous PDP teams, manufacturing suggestions, technology developments, etc. The Evergreen PDP provides the starting point and basic structure for the PDP development for newly licensed plants.

  • Work effectively and efficiently with all EOEG Licensing functions – Tech Center Subject Matter Experts / Manufacturing/ Dow Discipline Resources / R&D / Commercial Organization - to successfully deliver value to the customers.

Required qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior engineering, process design, or technology experience.
