Position Summary

The position is a full-time salary position responsible for coordinating the production of goods to ensure accurate and timely delivery of outgoing orders. This job involves supply chain management, cycle counts, inventory control, planning and coordinating production schedules.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing finished good inventory levels on a regular basis, utilize first expired first out rotation (FEFO).

  • Achieve the optimum inventory level through working with the corporate planner on long range production/inventory plans for products/materials based on sales forecasts, operational capacities, costs and customer service.

  • Maintain open lines of communication across departments in order to accurately, effectively, and efficiently plan the production and delivery of all orders.

  • Prepare production schedules in accordance with manufacturing plans by keeping others informed on changes in demand & operational capacities.

  • Collaborate daily with all departments to problem solve and create process improvements in order to proactively prevent/reduce any production delays or product backorders.

  • Prepare reports for management as necessary regarding schedule attainment metrics and other KPIs as assigned.

  • Maintain highest standard of quality, service, and efficiency through daily job tasks.

  • Works in concert with the Leadership Team to ensure full compliance on all safety, environmental, sanitation and regulatory issues. This includes OSHA, EPA, GMP, FDA and all other local, state and federal agencies.

  • Work regularly with all functional department heads by attending meetings, analyzing various reports, and communicating in order to support our production facility and current business plan.

  • Work with procurement to help adjust contract levels with ingredients for the year

  • Manage Ingredient Contracts - Track and manage the raw ingredient usage vs what is contracted

  • Work with corporate with product structure changes due to raw material issues, raw material changes, PKG changes

  • Place Purchase Orders for materials needed for Production: PKG, Ingredients, Corrugate

  • Developing and maintain tools to plan production and for other departments

  • Entering/Maintaining Production SO, maintaining correct lot numbers, printing SO tickets, maintaining correct production amounts carried over from day to day.

  • Cycle counts

  • Inventory Management

  • Other duties as assigned.

Safety

  • Completes safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to the Environmental Health & Safety Manager.

  • Responsible to participate in mandatory safety training program requirements.

  • Required to report all safety issues, near misses, and injuries.

Quality & Food Safety

  • Completes quality and food safety system documentation and verifies compliance to program standards. Reports deviations to the Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager.

  • Responsible to participate in mandatory food safety and quality training program requirements.

  • Preserves the integrity of the BRC system through adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in the Quality Policy Manual. Takes actions necessary to resolve food safety and quality system deficiencies.

  • Required to report food safety and quality system failures and take actions necessary to preserve the BRC system.

  • Assist QA with Recall/Mock recalls by providing production details on materials

  • Performs lot tracking checks in IFS - Ensures that the paperwork attached to the SO, Lot Tracking is correct with paperwork and IFS

  • File exceptions for PKG and ingredient deviations, as well as expiring materials

    Position Requirements

  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

  • Minimum 2 years of planning and inventory experience, preferably in a food-related industry.

  • MRP experience wanted but not required.

  • Must be able to exercise discretion and judgment due to access to confidential information.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
