Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Jr Accountant to join our team in SOUTHFIELD, Michigan. The Jr Accountant will be responsible for executing a variety of accounting tasks, including maintaining accurate records and assisting in tracking and reconciling expenses. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the timely and accurate recording of revenue and cash receipts.

• Oversee all accounts payable, ensuring accurate entry and timely payment.

• Handle monthly sales tax reporting if applicable.

• Maintain all vendor ACH bank information in ACH software accurately.

• Ensure the creation and filing of 1099's and 1096 yearly.

• Be accountable for assigned month-end, quarterly, and year-end journal entries.

• Track and reconcile expenses with the Academy/Institute grant staff and review grant reports in the accounting software monthly.

• Oversee stale check follow up and reporting yearly to the State of Michigan.

• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of positive pay transactions.

• Perform monthly reconciliation of assigned accounts and maintain all W-9's and ACH forms. Requirements • Possess skills in Account Reconciliation

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Billing processes

• Proficiency in Data Entry

• Experience in Invoice Processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Familiarity with Oracle

• Experience with QuickBooks

• Familiarity with SAP

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team

• Strong understanding of accounting and financial principles

• Good organizational and time management skills.
