Professional Position Details: The Opportunity: As the Health Equity Circle Organizer you will provide specialized leadership to lead the student Health Equity Circle (HEC) chapters in Spokane and oversee the regional network of Health Equity Circle student chapters. These chapters include but are not limited to WSU. The Health Equity Lead Organizer position is an academic-community collaboration between the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine and the Health Equity Circle. The Health Equity Circle Organizer is a staff member of the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine with funding provided by the Health Equity Circle. You will fill the executive director role for the HEC and will report to the Director of Community Health Equity. Your key responsibilities will include using specialized knowledge to: develop systems and services that encourage student engagement; develop and deliver curriculum involving the impacts of social determinants of health, relational leadership, and community organizing on health equity to build student capacity for upstream change; establish a strong network of engaged inter-professional student leaders and community partners. This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Essential Job Functions: 25% Student Engagement 25% Community Engagement 25% Oversee HEC Statewide & Regional Network 20% Curriculum Development and Delivery 5% Other Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant extension program discipline and three (3) years of related experience in the program specialty. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Prefer a Masters Degree with three (3) years related experience. Demonstrated teaching experience and evaluating community projects and experience in preparing educational materials for low literacy and diverse populations.
