Job Purpose:
Performs a broad range of support and paralegal duties for Gonzaga School of Law's Clinical Legal Programs as assigned by the Director of clinical law programs and the Office Manager/Assistant to the Director.
Essential Functions:
- 50% - Administrative Support
- Performs a wide range of complex paralegal duties requiring independent judgment and initiative on assignments that are sensitive in nature.
- Perform complex word processing tasks such as complex court pleadings, briefs, letters.
- Manages correspondence for various clinics.
- Maintains professional and accurate records including confidential reports and information, both in electronic and written format.
- Scheduling of appointments, calendars, meetings, travel and other events, including the procurement of logistical needs
- 20% - Grant Reporting
- Prepare grant reports and grant and periodic statistical reports and annual grant renewal applications.
- Use spreadsheet database software for related grants.
- 20% - Legal Word Processing
- Ensures that legal documents are prepared according established formats and court procedures.
- Checks legal citations and references, ensures that legal documents are prepared in accordance with established formats.
- Files documents electronically in various courts

Educational Requirement:
Vocational, Associates, or Technical Degree
Years of Related Experience Requirement:
1 year
In lieu of the educational qualifications, candidates may qualify with equivalent professional experience at a ratio of one year of experience for each year of required education.
Certifications and/or Licensures:
Paralegal Certificate
Skills & Abilities:
- College or course work in paralegal studies
- Proficient in creating table of contents and table or authorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word
- Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of related experience
