Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor - Spokane Community College Community Colleges of Spokane Location: Spokane CC Main Campus Spokane Department: SCC Facilities Salary Range: $5,501 - $6,384 Starting salary for this position is: $5,501 (Monthly) Employees hired at the entry step of this range receive salary step advancement after six months and every 12 months thereafter. An employee hired at anything higher than the entry step of the range will have salary step advancement after 12 months and every 12 months thereafter until they reach the top of the salary range. Each salary step advancement will be approximately a 5% increase. About Us Spokane Colleges is comprised of two accredited colleges, Spokane Community College (SCC) and Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) serving Spokane, Stevens, Whitman, Ferry, and Pend Oreille Counties, as well as portions of Lincoln County. Both colleges are accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and governed by the Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges. About the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor - Spokane Community College JOB SUMMARY The Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor will supervise HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other similar technical trade employees and direct the work of outside contractors at Spokane Community College (SCC) and other off-site locations. This position will plan assignments and coordinate work for the maintenance and operation of facilities. The Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor will review budgets and order supplies and may perform work for maintenance, repair and improvement projects. CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Work with the Director of Maintenance & Operations to supervise multiple trade employees (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, locksmith, painting, HVAC). Direct the work of outside contractors in order to maintain, repair and improve facilities at Spokane Colleges and other off-site locations. * • Supervise classified and part-time hourly employees (train, schedule, evaluate, discipline, and respond to grievances). Adhere to classified contracts and all district rules and regulations ensuring efficient operations of facilities at SC. * • Inform and educate staff about behavior and performance expectations, provide timely and accurate feedback regarding performance, and ensure performance and behavioral problems are corrected promptly and effectively. * • Work with the Director of Maintenance & Operations to streamline work-order processes. Develop training plans for employee improvement. * • Monitor work orders in the maintenance management software system to ensure accurate information and to manage work assignments. Generate reports to ensure work orders are prioritized. * • Purchase supplies and parts needed for repair of buildings and grounds following purchasing rules. * • Manage preventive maintenance program following Spokane Colleges procedures. * • May assist in capital project planning as requested. • Model professional decorum and mutual respect in all personal interactions. * • Comply with district policies, procedures and directives, state and federal regulations, orders and statutes and collective bargaining agreements. * • Support and advance Spokane Colleges' strategic plan, and perform other duties as assigned. * * Indicates this is an essential duty.
