HP Inc. Employee Communications Strategist in Spring, Texas

The Employee Communications Strategist is a member of the Employee Communications team, which sits in the Corporate Affairs organization, and serves as an advocate for employees and a steward of HP's business, brand, and culture.

This role acts as both a consultant and a practitioner, primarily partnering with the People Organization to develop, guide, and manage internal campaigns related to employee learning and development; performance management; employee listening; wellbeing; and compensation and benefits. On occasion, this role may also be enlisted to support leadership or organizational announcements, crisis communications, and other sensitive assignments.

As a consultant, the Strategist works closely with internal stakeholders to define the desired impact of initiatives and to devise communication strategies that deliver on those goals. This role is also charged with strengthening communication processes and sharing best practices between Corporate Affairs and the People Organization.

As a practitioner, the Strategist's scope of responsibilities generally includes drafting key messages, developing tactical plans, and writing, editing, and overseeing the production, distribution, and measurement of communications through an array of internal channels.

This role requires someone with a bias for action and solid project management skills. The ideal candidate will be adept at navigating a large, matrixed organization to develop, advance, and finalize quick-turn deliverables that are true to HP's cultural values and voice.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Support planning and execution for employee-centric initiatives. Scope of work typically includes developing messaging, tactical plan and communications calendar, and related deliverables for distribution through internal channels.

  • Own accountability for on-time delivery of communication plans and deliverables. Identify and enlist internal/external resources to meet program commitments, as needed.

  • Develop and manage trusted relationships with project leads in the People Organization and other functions that facilitate collaboration, insights, problem-solving, and feedback.

  • Work with extended team members to conceptualize, write, edit, and produce an array of communication deliverables that are clear, concise, accessible, and relevant to their intended audiences.

  • Respond to new information, requirements, or opportunities quickly to enhance program design and delivery.

  • Measure and report out on program performance; share insights, lessons, and best practices with other communication practitioners across HP.

Reporting and management line

This role reports to the Director of Employee Communications Strategy and Transformation .

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. With 5+ years of combined experience in corporate communications and/or employee communication roles, this individual demonstrates:

  • Applied knowledge of current employee communications strategy, tools, and vehicles.

  • Ability to write and edit in a variety of styles and formats in a way that is engaging, clear, grammatically correct, and actionable.

  • Effectiveness at working in a complex, cross-functional, team-based environment with stakeholders and influencers across different levels and areas of responsibility.

  • Business acumen and understanding of global public technology companies.

  • A desire to bring creativity, curiosity, and innovative thinking to everything they do.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to change.

The base pay range for this role is $102,500 to $157,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
