Essential Functions
? Under general direction, serves as Application Information Systems Analyst I for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) performing difficult and specialized work in the Information Technology (IT) area of medium to large scale membership and benefits application services.
Conducts and coordinates in-depth technical research, and systems analysis to create system designs.
Analyzes and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve the supported application systems and/or sub-systems.
Serves as a member of the team responsible for supporting scheduled and remedial maintenance to the assigned applications.
Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.\
Minimum Qualifications
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.\
Specialized Skills
? Requires one (1) year of professional experience as a mainframe developer utilizing IBM operating systems and utilities (i.e., IBM, IEBGENER, IEBCOPY, IEBPRTPNC, or others) or relational databases and utilities (i.e., SQL, Oracle, or others).
Requires one (1) year of professional experience as a mainframe developer utilizing programming languages (i.e., JCL, TSO/ISPF, COBOL, Easytrieve PLUS, Panvalet, or others).
