About the Role:

The purpose of this regional role is to lead a proactive and collaborative team approach to promoting a culture of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) excellence. This position will ensure the timely delivery of the underpinning HSE functional projects, objectives, and targets for the GWS Enterprise Accounts within the United States Eastern Region.

The position will report into the Sr. HSE Director for AMS and the role will primarily focus on driving the execution and business adoption of our HSE management systems, procedures, and policies through account, sector, and site level audit verification to drive accountability into all levels of our business within the United States.

The role will drive a culture of HSE performance improvement through leading indicator trend analysis and implementation of effective risk management actions.

What You’ll Do:

  • As directed by the Sr HSE Director, supports HSE operations across the U.S., assisting HSE Platform and Account HSE professionals in region to achieve or exceed annual targets for leading indicators, injury rate reductions and other elements of safety improvement.

  • Provides technical leadership, decision making, and cultural change management leadership to ensure HSE programs are widely adopted, beneficial to the business, and appropriate to the business.

  • As directed by the Sr HSE Director, supports HSE operations across the U.S., assisting HSE Platform and Account HSE professionals in region to achieve or exceed annual targets for leading indicators, injury rate reductions and other elements of safety improvement.

  • Supports program deployment in region and looks towards innovation and industry leading approaches to drive continual improvement.

  • Ensures that we effectively learn from incidents and implement programs to control risk.

  • Responsible for assisting in regional health, safety, and environmental client contractual terms, governmental compliance requirements, and company policies are met in the U.S. Develops and supports the technical execution for HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) programs, teams, tools, and initiatives to meet such requirements.

  • Identifies, develops and delivers business wide adoption of the appropriate strategies in line with the CBRE Health, Safety & Environmental strategy, policy and processes within the region.

  • Monitors, reviews & analyses HSE performance identifying appropriate initiatives & differentiators to ensure performance improvement.

  • Monitors health and safety and environmental regulatory compliance in AMS, maintaining an up-to-date database and audit program against regional requirements.

  • Timely communication of all findings, concerns and deficiencies to the responsible management team and ensures that issues, concerns, and deficiencies are corrected – per pre-defined and agreed processes. Develops and implements strategic solutions that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance as directed.

  • Collaborates successfully with other departments, including People, Legal, D&T, Technical Excellence, and Risk, to complete the essential duties listed above.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university in occupational safety, public health, industrial hygiene, science, engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive management experience including HSE and Quality related management functions.

  • Must have strong technical and regulatory knowledge of in-country HSE compliance requirements.

  • Professional background with systems implementations, re-engineering, and other large/complex projects.

  • A proven track record of executing and operationalizing a regional strategy successfully across a complex, regional structure including successfully driving a change agenda.

  • Certifications in the field of HSE such as the CSP, CIH, CHMM or other certifications in the field of EHS are highly desirable.

  • Qualifications in auditing such as lead auditor certification for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 are desirable.

  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills

  • Exceptional presentation skills

  • Excellent project management experience

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Project, Microsoft office suite

  • Clear understanding and articulation of HSE Management Systems – leadership commitment, accountability, effective communication, auditing, and performance metrics.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the HSE Sr Manager position is $96,000 annually and the maximum salary for the HSE Sr Manager position is $115,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
