Position Title Part Time Sign Shop Technician

General Function
General duties include:
• Interact with internal and external clients to identify, dispatch and receive stock parts
• Prepare, create and install interior signage in campus buildings
• Complete data inputs to record receipts, issue, transfer, and surplus for stock supplies and equipment– utilizing manual data entry and scanner software
• Maintain inventory stock levels
• Keep record of service, use, and maintenance of warehouse machinery and equipment
• Operate assigned vehicle to pick up and deliver parts and supplies
• Other tasks as assigned by the Material & Inventory Control Specialist
Description of Primary Duties
Individual will work directly for the Material and Inventory Control Specialist and with assigned Stores Clerks, Property Control Staff and Facilities Maintenance personnel.
Primary Duties Include:
• Interact with internal and external clients to identify, dispatch and receive stock parts in the Sign Shop and in other areas within the Central Stores Department as assigned
• Prepare, create and install interior signage in campus buildings using CNC engraving equipment and APCO software
• Complete data inputs to record receipts, issue, transfer, and surplus for stock supplies and equipment
• Prepare job order sheets, work summary reports to schedule work to be done
• Input data updates to post status of work progress and job completion
• Record and maintain inventory of materials, keep records of all documentation relating to the dispatch and receipt of goods – utilizing manual data entry and scanner software
• Print bin labels for equipment, supplies, and inventory using a Cub printer and associated software
• Keep record of service, use, and maintenance of warehouse machinery and equipment
• Operate assigned vehicle to pick up and deliver parts and supplies
• Other tasks assigned by the Material & Inventory Control Specialist
This position is limited to a 1000 hours in a rolling 12 month period.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
• High school degree or equivalent
• Experience in warehouse/stockroom operations, bookkeeping, inventory management, or any other related field
• This position lifts and transports materials and on a daily basis; items weighing more than fifty pounds may require the assistance of others or the use of mechanical assistance. The nature of this position requires sitting at a computer, periods of standing, and frequent bending, stooping, and reaching on a daily basis.
• Must have a valid state-issued driver ’s license to operate assigned dispatch vehicles
• Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must have the ability to operate electronic office equipment such as photocopiers and must be familiar with or demonstrate a willingness to learn electronic filing systems
• Strong customer service skills as well as the ability to understand and follow verbal or written instructions is required
Additional Qualifications
• Ability to read and write English with good spelling and grammar skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with others
• Experience in warehouse/stockroom operations, bookkeeping, inventory management, or any other related field
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds of supplies safely
• Must have range of motion capability to physically walk, lift, carry, and climb stairs
• Must be able to use common hand tools and power tools
