Snyder Equipment is proud to be part of the New York Air Brake, specializing in braking and fueling systems for the rail industry. This location does remanufacturing of air compressors and air dryers as well as new production of wayside and service track equipment. This position will be welding a variety of parts both on remanufacturing and new production.

  • 1st shift/ training hours: 6 AM - 2:30, PM Monday - Friday ($23-25/hr start)
  • 2nd shift may be coming in the future: Monday - Friday, 2 PM - 10:30 PM, +$1/hr shift differential- will train on 1st shift 1-2 months
  • 3rd shift: Sunday-Thursday, 10 PM - 6:30 AM, +$1/hr shift differential (will train on first at $1/hr less)- will train on 1st shift 1-2 months

Position Title

Fabrication Welder (Stainless TIG)

Reports to

Production Manager

Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Fitting, fabricating, and welding parts for assembly.
  • Use of diagrams, blueprints, and instructions to fit, tack and weld products.
  • Use of punch press, press brake, other fabricating equipment.
  • Fabricating equipment set up and operation.
  • Proper use of power and manual tools
  • Proper use of calibrated gauges, power, and manual torquing devices.

Required Skills:

  • Possess demonstrated and proven skills in welding with GMAW, FCAW, and/or GTAW processes.
  • TIG welding (with Stainless Steel preferably)
  • Understand diagrams, blueprints, written instruction
  • Knowledge and use of power and hand fabricating tools, Punch Press and Press Brake operation.
  • Proficient Communication
  • Time Management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance

Preferred Experience:

  • 2+ Years TIG welding Stainless Steel
  • 2+ Years experience with structural, plate, and sheet metal fabrication
  • Experience in power and hand fabricating tools and equipment including forklift operations.
  • AWS Welder Certification in at least one GMAW, FCAW, and/or GTAW pro

Work Conditions

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions, i.e. noise, heat, cold, dust/dirt etc. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools and reach with hands and arms.
