Job Title: Material Handler (Forklift Operator)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler with strong experience operating forklifts to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely moving, storing, and organizing materials and products within the warehouse or manufacturing environment. The role requires operating various material handling equipment, including forklifts, to load/unload shipments, stock inventory, and ensure the smooth flow of materials throughout the facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to transport materials within the warehouse, storage areas, and production lines.

  • Load and unload incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently.

  • Move raw materials, finished goods, and parts to designated areas to ensure proper inventory management.

  • Verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments, checking for discrepancies between delivery orders and actual materials.

  • Perform regular inventory counts, track materials, and update inventory management systems.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring materials are stored in designated areas to avoid damage and improve accessibility.

  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures while operating forklifts and other heavy machinery, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Assist in preparing orders for shipment by picking, packing, and labeling products accurately and efficiently.

  • Work closely with other departments, including production, shipping/receiving, and quality control, to ensure materials are delivered on time and in good condition.

  • Monitor and report any damaged materials or equipment to the supervisor.

  • Maintain forklift equipment by performing routine inspections and notifying management of any maintenance or repair needs.

  • Assist with general warehouse tasks as required, including organizing shelves, managing stock, and supporting production lines.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven experience as a Material Handler , Warehouse Worker , or similar role.

  • Valid forklift certification (or the ability to obtain certification within a specified timeframe).

  • Strong experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a warehouse or industrial setting.

  • Ability to read and interpret shipping orders, invoices, and inventory sheets.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong communication skills to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments.

  • Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs or more) and stand or walk for extended periods.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.94 - $15.94
