Westminster Palms Occupational Therapist (PRN) in St Augustine, Florida
Description
Located in the heart of World Golf Village, Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Plan Community, is currently accepting applications for a On-Call Occupational Therapist (weekend availability preferred). As part of the Therapy Team, this individual will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment and consultation to a general rehab caseload. The will participate in the interdisciplinary team process, provide teaching and training to care giving staff and have involvement with the clinical program development. The Occupational Therapist will supervise other therapists, assistants, technicians, aides and students as required. EOE, DFWP - "We honor those who have served."

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Occupational Therapist must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities including:
Evaluate, identify and treat physical and cognitive deficits that interfere with the resident’s ability to perform daily life activities. Follow recommendations on MD’s orders.
Design restorative programs and train residents in the use of adaptive equipment.
Develop and enter Care Plans in the system for each of the resident’s needs. Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
Perform Resident Home Assessments as part of the discharge process.
Perform Resident’s screening during the admission process and quarterly & annual screening to determine the need for therapy.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy and ProfessionalLicensure where required by state of law; two years clinical experience preferred.
Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to utilize independent and effective clinical judgment, problem- solving anddecision-making skills. Utilizes effective time management skills.
Meet ASHA requirements for the position.
Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and to interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers.
Strong oral and written communication skills, organizational skills and analytical skills.
Physical and Environmental Requirements: The physical activities of this position involve: Balancing, Kneeling, Reaching, Crouching, Pulling, Standing, Manual Dexterity, Pushing, Stooping, Grasping Lifting up to 40lbs.
Sensory and Environmental Requirements: The physical activities of this position involve: Feeling, Smelling, Hearing, Speaking, Seeing
An individual in this position will be exposed to: Inside/Outside environmental conditions, Bloodborne pathogens, respiratory infections
Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress of this position.
