City of St Cloud Laboratory Technician in St. Cloud, Minnesota
The Laboratory Technician serves as a member of the Public Utilities Water Quality Team. The Laboratory Technician completes a variety of analyses to verify that water quality meets and exceeds state and federal requirements. This position requires application of skilled technical analytical techniques, effective communication, high levels of data integrity and efficient time management. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the effective oversite of state certified laboratories. The Laboratory Technician may be assigned to either of the Department s certified laboratories. Examples of duties include: Complete state certification requirements including annual recertification with primacy agency, regular proficiency testing, compliance audits and reviews, and thorough documentation practices; Interpret Standard Methods, TNI Standards, and applicable state and federal rules to ensure laboratory methods and procedures are compliant; Complete process control and certified testing to generate data of known quality using a variety of laboratory equipment and techniques; Interpret, summarize and prepare generated data for reporting to facility staff, administration, primacy agencies, and the public; Communicate with the public, in a professional, respectful, and informative manner.
