About The Position

The Executive Rewards Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Ameren’s executive compensation practices are designed and executed in a manner consistent with Ameren’s business and talent strategies to attract and retain a qualified and high performing leadership team. This position will manage the administration of executive compensation programs and processes, including long-term incentive and deferred compensation plans. The Executive Rewards Specialist will prepare and provide content for Human Resource Committee "HRC" (compensation) meetings and the Annual Proxy Statement. This position will report to the Manager, Executive Rewards and collaborate closely with multiple business partners, including HR, Controllers, Finance, HRIS, Legal and Payroll.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Partner with senior leadership to conduct job evaluations and develop compensation recommendations for leadership hires and promotions

  • Lead ongoing administration of Ameren's Long-Term Incentive Program including the preparation, calculation and approval of equity grants, stock payouts and dividends.

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for information included in Ameren's Proxy and Information Statements by providing relevant data for the executive compensation portions of the Compensation Discussion & Analysis section, ensuring accuracy of all executive compensation related discussion and corresponding tables.

  • Lead the annual executive compensation planning process and assist in material preparation for the Board HRC meetings partnering closely with senior leadership, legal and outside consultants.

  • Lead Executive Rewards responsibilities including preparation of materials for personalized retirement planning sessions for Officers, and executive on-boarding sessions for new Officers & Directors

  • Lead the development and delivery of Executive Compensation communication materials

  • Collaborate with Legal to manage Open Enrollment for the Ameren Board of Director Deferred Compensation Plan.

  • Complete annual executive salary survey submissions and benchmark analysis for base pay and incentive targets for Ameren Leadership Team (ALT) roles, ensuring all roles are appropriately placed in the compensation structure.

  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities that solve problems and find efficiencies, while ensuring the processes in place continue to comply with all applicable regulations and laws governing executive reward programs.

  • Identify, create and prepare ad-hoc compensation reports and data requests to provide leadership insight.

  • Provide guidance to senior leaders related to Ameren's Total Rewards Program.

  • Develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including payroll, HRIS, accounting, treasury and legal.

  • Lead and/or participate in a variety of executive rewards projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required

  • 5+ years of relevant experience required (e.g. Compensation, Executive Compensation, Finance/Accounting, Auditing, Benefits Administration, etc.) Direct experience in executive compensation preferred.

  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality of all sensitive matters and information

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certifications preferred.

Additional Information :

The Executive Rewards Specialist is a hybrid employee with the ability to flex work time between office and home environment.

Ameren’s selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.
