The Tax Technology - position will have a focus in utilizing technology to support the tax function within the indirect tax department covering premium tax, sales and use tax and value added tax. This will include tasks such as identifying opportunities to automate and streamline tax processes, analyzing, reporting on tax data, and implementing and maintaining tax software. A background in both technology and tax is preferred for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze data and identify opportunities for process improvement using technology, with a focus on accuracy and efficiency - support indirect tax team
Implement technology solutions, including tax compliance software, data analytics tools and process automation tools, as well as provide tax support for non-tax systems
Monitor and report on the performance of tax technology solutions
Provide technology support to tax teams and stakeholders
Monitors changes in indirect tax laws and regulations, analyze implications and options for compliance plus support the design, build and testing of required changes
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in:
Process automation tools, data analytical tools, and software compliance
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, as well as strong communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, as well as ability to work independently
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, data science or accounting or an applicable field of expertise or equivalent work experience
Indirect tax, premium and sales and use tax accounting and compliance
Compliance or accounting experience with indirect taxes outside of the US (value added taxes)
