JOB DESCRIPTION - DALLAS TRAILER REPAIR CO. REFRIGERATION / DIESEL TECHNICIAN Salary: $25.00 - $45.00/hr [Depending on experience] Job Summary This position is responsible for routine maintenance, diagnostics and repair on all trucks/vehicles and related equipment. To succeed in this role, one should have a solid knowledge of basic mechanic s tools, service, and diagnostic equipment, as well as strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and customer service skills, and be able to work independently or as a team member. Mechanic Responsibilities Conduct diagnostics and repairs on starting & charging systems, cooling, and re-charge, electrical and common fault codes. Inspect, analyze, and diagnose trucks/vehicles and related equipment for mechanical issues, faulty and replacement parts. Perform leak detection and repairs, compressor replacements, soldering refrigerant lines, evaporator/condenser replacements and front & rear main engine seal replacements in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standard. Perform routine maintenance and Federal inspections on trailers, trucks/vehicles, and related equipment. Problem solve and document an action plan for all repairs and follow checklists and protocols while conducting repairs. Ensure a safe, organized, and tidy workspace, including regularly cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment. Follow all health and safety rules and guidelines, as well as common sense safety practices. Ability to work independently, as well as support coworkers, able to work as part of team and work well with co-workers. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands/Abilities performed throughout the duration of the work shift. Heavy Work- Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently or up to 20lbs of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including other job-related items. Climbing Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using entire body Stooping/Crouching Bending body downward and forward by bending at the waist, legs, and spine. Balancing Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling. Kneeling/Crawling Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee(s) or moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
