As an Application Support Specialist, you will provide application and data development, support, and administration of the content management systems (CMS) and web applications supported by Minnesota IT Services (MNIT) in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) Communications and Public Engagement Office. This position will communicate, coordinate, deliver and/or resolve simple to complex application and data support service tasks for agency websites and web applications. This position will also work closely with colleagues to ensure a highly stable, quality environment for CMS and integrated custom web applications.
This position is currently eligible for full-time telework:
Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Only candidates located in Minnesota and bordering states (Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin) are telework eligible.
Minimum Qualifications
Position requires a minimum of two (2) years of IT related experience in designing, developing, administering, and deploying web applications and interfaces.
Experience must include:
Building and maintaining web applications and interfaces using PHP, HTML, CSS and Javasript.
Developing and administering Drupal websites with modules/extensions.
Technical support and troubleshooting of web applications working across multiple IT services (application, database, infrastructure, service desk).
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for two (2) years of experience, OR an IT or related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the Acquia and Enterprise GitHub platforms.
Developing web applications that access data from PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
Experience tuning website security and performance.
Experience with Drupal Core such as Views, Symfony, Migrate and the development of custom modules.
Experience with website migration and redesign projects.
