The HR Marketing and Engagement intern will serve in the office of Operation-Human Resources and work closely with the Workforce Strategy and Planning HR Director, The Diversity Recruitment and Retention Supervisor, as well as the Recruiting Supervisor. The intern will play a pivotal role in showcasing our organization as an employer of choice. The intern will create and implement marketing strategies to attract top talent, develop content showcasing the organization’s culture and values, and strengthen its employer brand. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in project management, communication, recruiting and retention, and social media marketing while fostering professional growth in a dynamic team environment. The ideal candidate is creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about marketing and employee engagement. Proficiency in social media platforms and strong communication skills are essential for this role. This internship is perfect for someone looking to gain real-world experience in HR and marketing while making a meaningful impact.
Some responsibilities include but not limited to:
Talent Marketing: Create and implement marketing strategies to attract top talent by showcasing the organization's culture, values, and opportunities through engaging content and storytelling. Including support over the monthly Career Connect Newsletter.
Social Media Management: Enhance the organization’s online presence by creating and scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and inquiries across social media channels.
Employee Engagement: Collaborate on HR projects that aim to improve employee engagement and workplace culture, gaining valuable experience in project management and communication.
Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for an internship, you must meet the following requirements:
You must be a student at an accredited educational institution; or recently graduated December 2024 or May 2025
AND
Excellent human relation and communication skills sufficient to represent the position and Division in a professional, efficient, and clear manner
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred majors include: Marketing, Advertising, Communication, or Human Resources
Knowledge of marketing and social media outreach
Strong written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to work effectively in diverse groups
Report generating and writing skills
Additional Requirements
Must be in academic years of sophomore, junior, or senior (Graduate students allowed)
Must provide unofficial transcript to show proof of school enrollment
Must be willing to reside in Minnesota for the duration of internship
Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) criminal background check will be conducted on all finalists for this position. Finalists must pass the DHS background check.
