This position serves our partners at the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) within the Department of Public Safety (DPS). MNIT BCA provides comprehensive IT operations and support services, custom application development, and dedicated business-specific support functions for investigative and specialized law enforcement services. You will support an agency that partners with law enforcement, public safety, and criminal justice agencies to prevent and solve crimes.
As an IAM Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our organization's Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems. This individual will ensure that our employees, partners, and customers have appropriate access to the resources they need while maintaining the highest levels of security and compliance. The IAM Administrator will leverage their expertise in both Windows and Linux server environments, as well as their deep understanding of IAM principles and best practices, to optimize our identity management infrastructure.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at the work location 2 days per week.
Telework (https://mn.gov/mmb-stat/policies/1422-telework.pdf) for Minnesota IT Services allows an employee to perform work from a telework location and an employee may be required to be in the office based on business needs and other dependencies in St Paul, Minnesota.

Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT related experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM).
Experience must include:
A deep understanding of IAM concepts, including authentication, authorization, user lifecycle management, role-based access control (RBAC), and identity federation.
Strong knowledge of directory services such as Active Directory, LDAP, and other directory technologies.
Solid understanding of Windows and Linux server operating systems, including installation, configuration, and administration.
Knowledge of security principles, vulnerabilities, and best practices related to IAM systems and infrastructure.
Proficiency in scripting languages like Groovy, Javascript, or PowerShell for automation and system management.
Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with leading IAM solution implementations.
Proficiency in installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows and Linux servers, including patching, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Ability to write scripts in languages like Groovy or Javascript to automate IAM tasks and improve efficiency.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve IAM-related issues effectively.
A strong security mindset with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks to the IAM system and data.
