The Firewall Engineer will be design, engineering and implementation of technology, systems, and policies for information security in support of business needs related to the Palo Alto Firewall migration from Checkpoint activities at company facilities across North America and globally

Manage on prem and cloud Checkpoint and Palo Alto firewalls

• Palo Alto and Checkpoint UTM engineering (Configuration, implementing, troubleshooting, patching, etc.)

• Firewall policy creation and updates

• Skills with supporting network technologies LAN Switching/Routing and VPN

• Firewall rule / policy analysis (API’s, Scripting)

• Firewall migration and execution (Ansible/Terraform)

• Palo Alto configuration and troubleshooting

• Create comprehensive documentation for network automation workflows, processes, and scripts. Prepare regular reports on network automation progress, performance, Manage on prem and cloud CheckPoint UTMs (Currently using Checkpoint R81)

• Support/Engineer/Participate/Coordinate large network migration projects

• Maintain Checkpoint Firewall Policies across multiple domains with different requirements

• Determine client/user requirements

• Assist/create procedural manuals and documents as needed

• Maintain expertise in assigned area to fulfill position goals and objectives

• Manage products throughout their lifecycles

• Participate in weekly service review meetings with clients/vendors

• Mentor and advise other team members

• Engineer and maintain Worldwide Checkpoint environment (software and hardware)

• Implement Check Point OSPF Routing for remote sites

• Utilize Check Point Blink Utility

• Moving from CheckPoint R81.10 Management and Checkpoint Gaia R81.20, R81.10, R80.40 R80.10 & Gaia Lite Gateways

• Create/maintain/standardize documentation for Checkpoint processes

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Using Terraform to deploy Checkpoint firewall rules and policies. This may help us to move faster in deploying firewall rules and also may be better at rule automation.

• Managing the Checkpoint firewalls in the AWS could be a plus (Checkpoint CloudGuard).
