POSITION OVERVIEW:

The St. Paul Park Refinery has a full-time, exempt opening for the position of Maintenance Planning Supervisor. The supervisor’s primary responsibility is to support refinery operations through an efficient maintenance workflow process in both routine and non-routine situations. The supervisor manages a team of 6 refinery planners and a maintenance scheduler and collaborates with the operations leadership to facilitate an efficient workflow process, support budget compliance, and drive continuous improvement of key workflow and execution performance indicators. Other duties and projects assigned as required. The work schedule is standard maintenance M-Th 4x10 hour days. Weekends, holidays, and additional hours as required.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Provide safety and environmental leadership in accordance with site safety/environmental requirements. Drive a strong safety culture within staff and supports safety across the refinery at all levels.

  • Strives for increased communication and positive working relationships between Maintenance and other departments (Operations, Engineering, Tech Service, etc.)

  • Ensures maintenance activities are planned, scheduled, and executed per RSP 1400 and champions workflow process

  • Ensures mechanical integrity related work orders and preventative maintenance activities are properly prioritized, scheduled, and executed to achieve 100% compliance

  • Responsible for the professional and technical development of all personnel within the Planning Organization

  • Develops strategies with craft supervisor to properly manage backlog, optimize overtime, and allocate resources through centralized maintenance shops

  • Develops strategies to optimize fixed costs through improved work efficiencies (time on tools) and headcount management

  • Facilitates applicable maintenance procedure creation & development.

  • Publish analyze and drive continuous improvement of workflow and execution KPIs

  • Collaborates with Craft Supervisor, operations, site engineers, and supporting departments to identify, develop and implement workflow plans within the refinery that support and complement plant priorities.

  • Support Management Of Change (MOC) process for equipment changes and improvements

  • Participate in work prioritization process to ensure equipment deficiencies prioritized appropriately.

  • Develop, manage, optimize applicable annual budgets

  • Develop bid documents for maintenance execution plans and job material needs.

  • Ensure project engineering packages are planned for execution to meet project deadlines.

  • Develop schedules for planned/unplanned equipment and/or unit outages to perform maintenance

  • Site subject matter expert for SAP - Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a refinery setting with relevant experience in the planning and/or execution of maintenance, TAR, or construction work

  • Strong mechanical and civil aptitude, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of refinery equipment (exchangers, tanks, vessels, etc) and associated industry codes & standards

  • Project and Budget Management Experience

  • EAM/CMMS experience (SAP, APM, Prometheus)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project

  • Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Civil/Construction Engineering or related field

  • Experience with SAP, APM, and Prometheus software in refining environment

  • Experience in Primavera (P6)

  • Willing to relocate for future opportunities
