Job Title: Lead Carpenter

Job Description

Leading construction company specializing in a wide range of services, including earthwork, concrete, carpentry, and finishes. Dedicated to delivering high-quality projects and take pride in their skilled workforce. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team for a project currently taking place at the Hammond Building at Penn State for the next 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of carpenters and laborers.

• Interpret and work from blueprints, sketches, and drawings.

• Measure, cut, and shape materials such as wood, plastic, and fiberglass.

• Construct and install building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames.

• Ensure projects adhere to building codes and safety regulations.

• Inspect and evaluate the quality of work performed.

• Collaborate with other construction professionals, including architects and engineers.

• Maintain project schedules and communicate progress to project managers.

• Manage inventory and order supplies as needed.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during construction.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

• Strong working knowledge of construction materials, tools, and methods.

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• High attention to detail and quality.

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.

• Experience in rough carpentry, power tools, doors, hand and power tools, new construction, and formwork.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00
