Infusion RN - Staten Island - Per Diem - MSH - OFFSITE

The Offsite Registered Nurse – Infusion provides safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and significant others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science with a major in nursing preferred. Associate degree in nursing is considered only with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN Program if approved by Chief Nursing Officer or designee

• Relevant clinical competence in area of nursing practice assigned; new graduates must possess current knowledge of the nursing process and its application.

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse with current registration in New York State

• Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card

Responsibilities

• Assists in development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of care and professional practice with the health care team, following institutional policies and regulatory agency requirements.

• Assesses and evaluates patient needs and responses to care, applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions.

• Provides direct, continuous care (where applicable) for a specific caseload of patients using the nursing process based on theory, research, and approved nursing standards.

• Coordinates patient care activities, including teaching, rounding, counseling, and discharge planning, and delegates appropriately to the health care team.

• Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, their significant others, and health care team members about the patient's plan of care.

• Participates in performance improvement, nursing quality, nursing research activities, and applies them to clinical practice.

• Participates in the design, measurement, and assessment of care-related structures, processes, and outcomes to improve the quality of patient care.

• Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for nursing practice and the delivery of safe, competent patient care.

• Participates in maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and consumer-oriented environment.

• Respects and values each patient's unique needs, beliefs, and diversity, incorporating them into the planning and delivery of care.

• Collaborates with the health care team, patient, and significant others to plan and implement the patient's care.

• Coordinates discharge planning from admission to discharge or transfer, and conducts discharge phone calls on selected patients.

• Performs charge responsibilities, as assigned.

• Maintains clinical competence and is responsible for own professional growth and development from advanced beginner to expert.

• Functions as a professional role model and preceptor for students, new hires, and staff.

• Supports the mission, philosophy, standards, and objectives of the institution and department.

Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $0 - $0 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
