National Lutheran Communities & Services Certified Nursing Assistant (FT) in Staunton, Virginia

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the well-being of our residents, including those in our specialized memory care unit. From assisting with daily activities to monitoring health and advocating for needs, your role as a CNA is truly invaluable. You'll provide personalized care for residents with varying cognitive abilities, employing dementia-friendly communication techniques and creating a safe, engaging environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist nursing staff with completion of resident activities of daily living, bathing, dressing, oral care, and other basic needs
Perform vital signs on residents at beginning of each shift and as directed
Answer calls for assistance and observe changes in resident’s behavior, emotional state, or physical condition
Complete required documentation in a timely manner
Assist in transporting residents as needed
Provide companionship to residents
Ensure the safety of our residents
Assist with motivating residents to help keep them active and engaged
Maintain a clean and healthy environment
Requirements
Must hold a current certification and CNA license in Virginia
Must possess a positive and professional attitude
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Previous experience working in a skilled nursing facility is a plus
Ability to show empathy and compassion while interacting with residents to increase their comfort level

Job Type: Full-time | Day & Night Shift
Salary range: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour, with final offer reflecting the candidate's demonstrated skills, relevant experience, and professional background.
