Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
Operating, optimizing, and maintaining assigned production equipment to meet and exceed production standards while maintaining product quality. Minimizing and preventing equipment downtime and sustaining budgeted waste levels. Maintaining accurate equipment logs and recording downtime and maintenance problems. Performing preventative maintenance on equipment, starting up equipment and ensuring accurate functioning. Monitoring component inventories and safety guards, maintaining a neat and orderly production environment, and monitoring in-process quality and addressing issues as needed. Performing required quality checks and process challenges, following safety and environmental procedures, and Quality System Requirements. Supporting upstream and downstream operations, performing rework as required, and working optimally in a team environment.
Responsibilities

Maintain accurate equipment logs and record downtime and maintenance problems
Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
Start up equipment and ensure accurate functioning
Monitor component inventories and safety guards
Maintain a neat and orderly production environment
Monitor in-process quality and address issues as needed
Perform required quality checks and process challenges
Follow safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements
Support upstream and downstream operations
Perform rework as required
Work optimally in a team environment
Essential Skills
Mechanical aptitude (mechanic, maintenance mechanic, auto mechanic, etc.)
Experience with hand tools, pneumatics, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, conveyor systems, motors, valves, and cams
Repair and troubleshooting skills
Experience with CAM Drives, pneumatic driven cycles, pneumatic cylinders, conveyors, sprockets, valves, and motors
Pneumatics experience
Basic understanding of mechanics and troubleshooting
Mechanical preventive maintenance skills
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Mechanical experience or proficiency required; 2 years preferred
Knowledge of automated processes
6-12 months of manufacturing experience desired
Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics required
Proficiency with basic hand tools
Familiarity with mechanical components such as bushings, chain drives, conveyors, gearboxes, and ball valves
Familiarity with electrical components such as photo-eyes, scales, reed switches, and VFDs
Ability to work autonomously and be self-motivated

Work Environment
Direct placement with night shift hours (3-2-2-3 schedule from 8pm-8am). Extensive training provided on first shift before transitioning to the night shift. Must start on Mondays for onboarding. The plant operates 24/7 and employs around 900 people, offering a large and dynamic work environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Sumter, South Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $56160.00
