       License and Certification Qualifications: None required.Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience Qualifications: One year of accident free GCPS bus driving experience or approved equal experience and one year of secretarial/receptionist and customer service experience required.Skills Qualifications: Effective communication skills; ability to follow oral and written instructions; ability to relate to all levels of current employees; strong working knowledge of transportation policies and procedures, student management, and fleet operations; ability to respond to inquiries and requests from internal and external customers; efficient computer and office skills; and ability to act as a representative of Gwinnett County Public Schools.Primary Responsibilities: Provide clerical support for the safety and training staff and conduct front desk and telephone communications functions for the Transportation Department.1. Handle all phases of front desk operations for the Transportation Department.a. Greet employees and visitors upon entering the office.b. Provide office directions for visitors, manager/monitor trainees, and veteran managers/monitors.c. Receive and sign for deliveries and direct delivery persons to appropriate office area.d. Report needed supplies to supervisor.e. Receive, record, and respond to telephone messages for unavailable safety and training staff.2. Provide clerical support for safety and training staff.a. Assist with creating bus manager, bus monitor, rehire, and remedial training class rosters.b. Assist with generating bus manager and monitor trainee files.c. Assist with scheduling Annual Driver Proficiency Test (ADPT) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) appointments as well as data entry for both.d. Assist with state standards files as requested.e. Provide general correspondence, form letters, and memos as directed by supervisor.f. Maintain CDL files as directed by supervisor.g. Assist with updating the Transportation Handbook and Logbook.h. Provide informational support for new and veteran bus managers, monitors, and field trainers.i. Assess supply needs and initiate orders and record receipt of supplies.3. Support all safety and training staff, including coordinating training spaces, preparing classroom for all training classes, as well as monitoring and processing paperwork for new trainees to meet state requirements.4. Maintain inventory of and prepare training materials.a. Verify number of bus manager/monitor trainees or veteran managers/monitors to attend scheduled training sessions.b. Assist with ensuring all attendants have necessary classroom materials.5. Assist with the annual GCPS Roadeo practice and competition.6. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
