Philips Configuration Management Specialist in Suzhou, China
Your role:
Configuration Management (CM) can be found on several levels, but the basic responsibility of the Configuration Manager (CM Manager) is to plan, coordinate and execute CM activities in close cooperation with other functions in the US systems organization. He/she is responsible for keeping the Product Life Data Management (PLDM) archive complete and consistent. He/she is an operational leader regarding CM activities, improvements, and tooling. He/she pro-actively contributes to improvements in the method of working regarding the CM process and its tooling (PTC Windchill), and if applicable updates the QMS accordingly.
You are responsible for
Support the development organization in providing information and training on demand and pro-actively
Ensure that the CM process is followed with the goal of having a complete and consistent Device History File (DHF) and Device Master Record (DMR) at commercial release of the product
Support architects in setting up DHF document structure
Define, plan, coordinate and track improvement activities
Align Idea to Market program with CM roadmap, plan and activities
Participate in PTC Windchill steerco and user group.
Train new and existing user of the PLDM system
Find solutions for users in line with CM process.
Signal pro-actively deviations from planning or expected results and define corrective actions accordingly
Support the CM process owner in determining the vision and strategy for CM and to deploy this in the organization
Review and process changes to CM records (i.e. product development documentation, engineering drawings, engineering BOMs, etc.) made via change orders
You're the right fit if:
Bachelor or Master education (e.g. in Mechatronics, Mechanical) or equivalent level of experience
Several years of experience with CM processes, concepts and tools
Preferable ICT background related to managing sharepoints, databases (SQL (MSSQL 2008 R2) and/or SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)
Ability to communicate abstract concepts
Good communication skills and ability and understanding to communicate with other functions
Has extensive knowledge of CM tools (change management system, code archive, PLDM archive, build tooling), preferred PTC Windchill
Has knowledge and understanding of other functions as part of product development
Planning skills
Coordinating and leadership skills
Communication skills, including negotiating skills
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
