Our client is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician with expertise in plumbing and pipefitting to join their team. This role involves planning and performing all necessary operations to install, maintain, and repair various systems, including water, steam, oil, air, gas, acid, sanitary waste, wastewater, sprinkler, pressure, and piping systems, along with pumps and HVAC equipment throughout the plant, office, and yard areas. Candidates must have at least three years of plumbing experience or Plumbing Journeyman status, along with experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Additionally, candidates must possess a strong understanding of mechanical equipment and be proficient in using a range of hand tools and pipe-fitting machinery to bend, thread, and cut pipe.

responsibilities:

• planning and performing all necessary operations to install, maintain, and repair various systems such as water, steam, oil, air, gas, acid, sanitary waste, wastewater, sprinkler

• Utilize broad trades and apprenticeship training to improvise and make decisions where only general methods are available.

• Install appropriate numbers of sprinkler heads based on pipe size and maintain dry and divisional valves to ensure proper pressure and effective operation of sprinkler systems.

• Maintain underground fire supply and sanitary/storm sewer lines.

• Replace and repair motorized control equipment for steam and hot water, including minor repairs on copper coil unit heaters.

• Install and maintain new and rebuilt air conditioning units, including repairing various components like compressors, condensers, and motors.

• Inspect, troubleshoot, isolate problems, and repair instruments and control systems for heating, cooling, air, water, and wastewater systems.

• Address air makeup system malfunctions and regulate combustion equipment, maintaining operational logs as required.

Qualifications:

• Journeyman status or three (3) years of documented plumbing experience.

• strong problem-solving skills and understanding of mechanical equipment.

• Proficient in using a variety of hand tools and pipe-fitting machinery to bend, thread, and cut pipe.

• Industrial piping experience.

• Five (5) years of full-time experience or equivalent to Journeyman-level plumbing experience.

• Capability to operate a forklift as needed to perform job duties
