SUNY Upstate Medical University Phase 1 Curriculum Coordinator in Syracuse, New York
Job Summary:
The Norton College of Medicine endeavors to prepare students for delivering the highest quality patient care to our communities. The Office of Undergraduate Medical Education administers the undergraduate medical education program, coordinates the content and sequence of courses, and promotes innovative learning, teaching, and evaluation of techniques. Our curriculum integrates foundational and clinical sciences while addressing the humanistic aspects of medicine- including the ethical, legal, and social implications.
The Phase 1 Curriculum Coordinator is a full-time administrative position in the Office of Undergraduate Medical Education. The coordinator will provide administrative support for the undergraduate medical school curriculum, including course coordination, project management and general office administration.
Responsibilities include:
-Efficiently prepare and communicate curricular information to course directors, content leaders, faculty, and students.
-Coordinate medical school courses and/or course coordination
-Prepare and disseminate course materials and syllabi
-Schedule learning sessions including room reservations when needed
-Timely manage and maintain on-line course materials in the learning management system (LMS)
-Serve as a front-line contact and liaison between students, faculty, and course co-directors.
-Coordinate the assessment preparation and evaluation processes for courses with timely submission to meet curricular deadlines
-Participate in the administration of course assessments.
-Attend and participate in curricular committees and other curricular related meetings
-Complete curricular projects and tasks as assigned by the Phase 1 Program Director or Program Manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and one year of administrative or education related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Interest in medical education.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior administrative experience in an academic setting preferred.
Work Days:
M-F 8am-4:30pm with reasonable flexibility
