Syracuse University Postdoctoral Scholar - Plant Cell & Developmental Biology in Syracuse, New York

The Meyer Lab is seeking a motivated and creative Postdoctoral Scholar to join our team. As a newly established lab in the Department of Biology at Syracuse University, we are dedicated to uncovering and manipulating protein-based mechanisms that organisms use to sense and respond to changes in their environment. To achieve this, we are integrating advanced live-cell imaging with molecular and biochemical approaches to 1) investigate how protein condensation regulates environmentally-driven cellular and developmental processes (e.g. flowering) in the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana, and 2) explore whether protein condensation represents a broader sensing mechanism across eukaryotes. Research into these topics will enhance our understanding of how eukaryotes perceive and respond to environmental changes and provide insights into the diverse molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying environmental regulation in living systems. This postdoctoral position is fully funded for up to two years. Specific research goals will be developed in collaboration with the principal investigator.
