Crouse Hospital Registered Nurse - Orthopedics in Syracuse, New York

Crouse’s Orthopedic Unit specializes in patients being treated for musculoskeletal system issues and recipients of physical, occupational, and/or speech therapy. The Orthopedic team is hiring a Part-Time Registered Nurse.
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of care for a given patient population with the established standards and practices of Crouse Hospital. This process is enacted through direct clinical practice, management of patient care and general professional duties.
Pay Range: $33 - $47.86 / hour (based on experience)
Schedule: Three 8-hour shifts, 11pm to 8:30am, working every other weekend

Registered Nurse (RN) Position Responsibilities:
Provides professional judgment and knowledge of roles as it pertains to the Crouse Hospital Professional Nursing Practice Model.
Carries out duties and responsibilities per legal requirements under the Registered Nurse Scope of Practice, with emphasis on leading a culture of safe care.
Responsible for all activities requiring assessment, planning, diagnosing, evaluating, judgment, problem-solving, creating and implementing the plan of care.
Provides appropriate education to patients and families to promote health, facilitate rehabilitation and maintain wellness. Evaluates effectiveness and revises as appropriate.
Monitors and evaluates patient responses to treatment/plan of care during hospital stay.
Utilizes and engages in evidence based practice to deliver quality patient care.
Demonstrates characteristics and skills that promote critical thinking in clinical problem solving situations.
Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited nursing degree program.
Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State or, if hired as a Graduate Nurse, a NYS limited licensure work permit must be obtained within ninety (90) days of graduation and the GN must successfully pass the NCLEX exam within 120 days of the beginning of employment to obtain the required professional nursing licensure with New York State.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Certification in a specialty area.
