Air National Guard Units SUPV ITSPEC (SYSADMIN) in Syracuse, New York

Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SUPV ITSPEC (SYSADMIN), Position Description Number D2158000 and is part of the 152 AOG, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities As a SUPV ITSPEC (SYSADMIN), GS-2210-12, you will provide first level supervision over the Information Technology Specialists providing Systems Administration and Network Services within the ACOMS. Additionally this position is to serve as the technical expert and project leader for information technology (IT) systems administration. The systems administered involve multiple computers running multiple operating systems. The incumbent is responsible for the planning and coordinating of the installation, testing, system security configuration and monitoring, operating, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all server hardware and software. Due to the unique mission of the c-NAF, this PD cannot be used in any other organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: Enlisted Only GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Must have experience as a first level supervisor over the Information Technology Specialists providing System Administration and Network Services. Must have experience serving as the Senior Systems Administrator responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting to support customer needs. Must have experience establishing and advising on the interpretation and application of policies, standards, and procedures for evaluating current and future telecommunications requirements. Must also have experience analyzing, evaluating, and recommending the projected needs of the organization relating to computer hardware, software, and telecommunications requirements considering such factors as compatibility with standard systems, conversion and implementation costs, and impact on existing equipment. The Specialist is also responsible for the planning and coordinating of the installation, testing, system security configuration and monitoring, operating, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all server hardware and software.
