Job Description:

About the Role: Under limited supervision and general direction, in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations and corporate procedures and guidelines of Johnson & Johnson, the Manufacturing Manager will:

  • Continuously assess the results of the area, proposing actions and applying methodologies that lead to achieving defined manufacturing results in the strategic planning.

  • Plan structural actions to support strategic planning goals, focusing on Labor, Raw Materials, Equipment, and Quality while striving for the best possible cost.

  • Manage Manufacturing indicators (Cost, Quality, Safety, Labor, etc.), supporting actions and/or improvement projects.

  • Work on strategic projects.

  • Address issues related to Failure Investigation (NCR and CAPA), utilizing statistical and managerial techniques and tools.

  • Establish partnerships with support areas such as Planning, Procurement, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental, aiming for process excellence and significant improvements in the company's results.

  • Ensure appropriate task distribution among subordinates, as well as manage and control vacation, overtime, promotions, and other relevant personnel management issues, when applicable.

  • Foster a diverse, cooperative, and transparent work environment that generates motivation and employee engagement.

  • Maintain indicators of manufacturing cost, quality, and efficiency to identify improvement opportunities, supporting the implementation of corrective actions and assisting in the resolution of non-conformities and elimination of root causes.

  • Contribute to monitoring Health, Safety, Environmental, and quality audits by providing data and meeting requirements, as well as implementing corrective and preventive actions suggested to eliminate unsafe acts and conditions.

  • Define actions for aligning demand with manufacturing resource availability (productive hours) and evaluate the efficiency of critical equipment to optimize needs and capacity.

  • Identify potential hazards to people, property, and the environment while complying with the company's procedures and Brazilian legislation.

  • Ensure the adoption of a Quality culture across all levels of J&J Medical Brazil to meet the company's defined objectives, complying with applicable regulations and policies.

  • Be responsible for the performance and development of subordinates, adhering to company procedures.

  • Communicate problems or business opportunities to the next management level.

  • Ensure that subordinates adhere to all company guidelines regarding Environmental, Health, and Safety practices and that all necessary resources are available and in good condition, if applicable.

  • Ensure compliance for both individuals and the company with all federal, state, local regulations, and company policies and procedures.

  • Carry out other assigned tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related manufacturing fields.

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in manufacturing and/or Supply Chain environments.

  • Intermediate English proficiency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Desired: Postgraduate degree.

  • Desired: Knowledge in Change Control and Equipment Qualification.

  • Desired: Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).

  • Knowledge of Quality Tools.

  • Desired: Knowledge of Financial Metrics/Business Acumen.

  • Proficient in computer skills (primarily MS Office).

  • Presentation skills and proficiency in training/education methodologies.

  • Prioritization, follow-up, and control skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Decision-making, partnership, and problem-solving capabilities.
