A local municipality is seeking a skilled GIS Technician (Contract) to support our geospatial data infrastructure and provide critical mapping and spatial analysis for company operations, environmental planning, and infrastructure development. This hybrid contract role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects that drive operational efficiency and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain, update, and analyze geospatial data to support port operations, infrastructure planning, and environmental initiatives.
• Utilize Esri ArcGIS tools to create, edit, and manage spatial datasets, maps, and applications.
• Develop and integrate GIS solutions across departments to enhance decision-making and efficiency.
• Conduct advanced spatial analysis, geoprocessing, and data modeling for infrastructure and logistics projects.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity by implementing GIS best practices and quality control measures.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to provide GIS support and technical expertise.
• Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively communicate spatial data insights.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• 5-7 years of experience working with GIS technologies, including Esri ArcGIS (ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online).
• Experience with spatial databases (SQL), GPS data collection, and remote sensing technologies is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data visualization skills.
• Knowledge of cartographic principles, spatial analysis, and geoprocessing tools.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
