JOB SUMMARY
St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA, a leading healthcare provider, offers an exceptional opportunity for aspiring Radiologic Technologists to gain invaluable hands-on experience. We are seeking highly motivated students currently enrolled in the second year of an accredited Radiologic Technology program to join our dynamic team as a Student Radiologic Technologist. This is a temporary classification, providing a supportive learning environment where you'll contribute directly to patient care under the guidance of experienced professionals.
As a Student Radiologic Technologist, you will:
Master Imaging Techniques: Operate and maintain various radiological equipment, including X-ray, fluoroscopy, C-arms, and portable units, performing exams in diverse settings (e.g., clinics, ER, surgery). You'll develop proficiency in various imaging modalities under the direct supervision of licensed professionals.
Provide Exceptional Patient Care : Deliver compassionate care to patients of all ages, explaining procedures clearly and addressing their concerns. You will act as a vital link between patients and radiologists.
Prioritize Safety : Employ radiation safety protocols meticulously, ensuring the well-being of patients, colleagues, and yourself. You'll participate in inventory management and contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.
Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with a team of experienced technologists, nurses, and physicians, contributing to a seamless patient experience. You'll learn to effectively communicate and collaborate within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Develop Professional Skills : Gain experience in patient charting, emergency response, and basic nursing functions within the scope of your training. You'll also participate in continuing education and department meetings to stay current with best practices.
Embrace Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate cultural competence in your interactions with patients from diverse backgrounds, ensuring inclusive and respectful care.
Qualifications
Currently enrolled in the second year of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
Washington State X-Ray Technician Registration.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Demonstrated knowledge of radiological examination concepts, procedures, and equipment.
Understanding of relevant regulatory requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively and document patient information accurately.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Pay Range
$30.50 - $30.50 /hour
