Role Purpose
This is a software engineering position within Corning Display Technologies engineering group. The position will be focused on the Software Engineer to design, develop and install software solutions to improve manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have experiences and have strong curiosity in Technology. Software Engineer responsibilities include gathering user requirements, defining system functionality and writing code in various languages, especially PYTHON and .NET programming languages. Our ideal candidates are also familiar with the software development life cycle (SDLC) from preliminary system analysis to tests and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
Plans and designs software-related project (full-stack development).
Executes full AIOT and software-development life cycle (SDLC).
Develops flowcharts, layouts and documentations to identify requirements and solutions.
Produces specifications for programs/software and determine their operational feasibility.
Builds and maintains reliable, efficient python and reusable C++ code/ C#.
Documents and maintains software functionality.
Troubleshoots, debugs and upgrades existing systems.
Complies with project plans and industry standards.
Experiences/Education
- Bachelors or master’s in computer science, information engineering, industrial engineering or relevant field.
Skills
Required Skills
Basic understanding of RDBMS databases
Strong knowledge of python, C++, C# programming.
Familiar with DevOps tools, such as Gitlab, JIRA.
Excellent knowledge of computer systems (networks, operating systems, and computer architecture)
Excellent critical thinking and debugging skills in software programming.
Desired Skills
Project management skill
Understanding of equipment mechanical and control
Experience in implementing DMAIC methodology and leading 6-sigma project.
Uses simple statistical tools and Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin).
