High School diploma or its equivalent isrequired.

Preferences:

  • Experience working with accounting records and data.

  • Experience with data cleansing, conversion, and/or migration.

  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing related to developing scenarios with pass/fail criteria, developing scripts, executing testing, and documenting results.

  • Experience with data reconciliation and validation.

  • Experience developing financial management policy.

  • Experience with State of Florida Payroll processes.

  • Experience working with the State of Florida in an accounting or financial reporting capacity.

    This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

    Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data.

  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program.

  • Knowledge of fraud prevention measures.

  • Ability to conduct fact-finding research.

  • Ability to handle confidential information in a secure and professional manner.

    BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Assist with inquiries from Agencies, Vendors, Retirees and Employees (phone calls, voicemails, and emails) and providing accurate information regarding, but not limited to completing Direct Deposit forms and payment requests.

  • Tasks associated with scanning Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Authorization Forms into NetDMS.

  • Auditing Direct Deposit Authorization forms for Employees and Retirees. This includes auditing the forms for accuracy and completeness of the required information, reviewing documentation for fraud.

  • Entering completed Retiree and Employee authorization into Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR), the Direct Deposit System.

  • Return incomplete forms or incorrect authorizations to payee by appropriate letter.

  • Prepare and submit requests to the Division of Retirement to review Retiree Direct Deposit Authorizations then process accordingly when response is received.

  • Preliminary Prep and Audit Vendor forms. This includes auditing the forms for accuracy and completeness of the required information and conducting fact-finding research.

  • Pull completed Vendor forms for approval.

  • Review the 60-Day pending forms.

  • Performing other duties as assigned within the Bureau of Vendor Relations.
