The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Lead Risk and Compliance Consultant with a strong technical background in cybersecurity, specializing in security compliance and risk assessments. This role focuses on industry frameworks such as: NIST CSF (National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework), HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) and PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard). You will be responsible for conducting security assessments, providing strategic advice, delivering executive briefings, and generating actionable reports to address complex compliance and security challenges.

With a strong technical foundation, you’ll engage directly with clients, helping them navigate security risks and achieve compliance objectives. The ability to work independently and communicate effectively with both technical teams and senior leadership is critical to success in this role.

Location

This role is designated as a fully remote position within the United States.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Advanced-level experience in the information security field, performs at program-level with minimal oversight, and provides mentorship to junior level colleagues.

  • Proficient in business communication, delivery of technical and executive level presentations, and the ability to clearly articulate highly complex information security topics both written and verbally.

  • Ability to independently identify and resolve program-level problems, develop and implement strategic improvement plans, and to provide leadership to colleagues.

  • Lead security assessments focused on NIST CSF, HIPPA, CMMC, and PCI DSS, providing expert guidance on gaps and remediation strategies.

  • Conduct client interviews, gather information on security posture, and work with stakeholders to identify improvements.

  • Develop comprehensive reports detailing security findings, analysis, and remediation plans (POA&Ms).

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring clients are informed, satisfied, and confident in the consulting process.

  • Work with consultants and project managers to ensure successful client engagements and share expertise with staff.

  • Create standardized deliverable templates, statement of work templates, pricing templates, tear sheets, sales presentations, and sales collaterals.

  • Assess broad trends in the IT security space and propose, develop recommendations that address evolving customer needs.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or another similar field.

  • Experience: 10+ years in cybersecurity with a strong technical background and expertise in security compliance, frameworks, and risk assessments. Expertise in CMMC, PCI DSS, and other relevant frameworks.

  • Technical Skills: Experience with security frameworks, risk assessments, and audits related to NIST CSF, HIPPA, CMMC and PCI DSS. Hands-on knowledge of networking and cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, routers, switches, and firewalls).

  • Security Scanning: Experience with vulnerability scans and analyzing security risks.

  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to prepare and present executive-level briefings and technical reports. Work with practice leads, sales and sales support, and business teams to convey customer feedback as input to security productized services. Demonstrated ability to integrate parties that may be required during solution development to ensure seamless integration, and scoping for productized services.

  • Client-Facing Experience: Proven ability to work directly with clients and engage with senior leadership. Operate in both single- and multi-person customer-facing engagements to achieve Lumen delivery expectations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two industry-recognized certifications related to security consulting services:

  • ISC2 (e.g.,CISSP, SSCP, CCSP, etc.)

  • ISACA (e.g., CISA, CSX-, CISM, etc.)

  • SANS/GIAC (e.g., GSE, GCSA, etc.)

  • Other industry-relevant certifications

  • Experience operating in a tier 1 consulting firm preferred

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY

$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

$142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
