Jacobs Transportation Roadway Engineer in Tallahassee, Florida

As our Transportation Roadway Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical design and serve as the roadway lead for design projects throughout Florida.

Key Responsibilities of the Transportation Roadway Engineer: • Serve as Project Engineer for key roadway design projects including operational and safety improvements. • Lead technical team in developing solutions to complex roadway design projects, requiring a high degree of innovation and ingenuity. • Provide technical expertise by formulating and developing advance design concepts, techniques, and standards. • Assuring effective utilization of engineering personnel and technical quality. • Work with business development and marketing teams to secure new projects.

  • Substantial post graduate years experience in transportation/highway engineering of design projects

  • Civil Engineering Degree from an accredited university.

  • Florida Professional Engineer PE license and ability to serve as Engineer of Record.

  • Previous experience with design of roadway/highway facilities of similar projects.

  • Must be able to demonstrate leadership abilities and possess written and oral communication skills

  • Must be able to lead a design team developing construction plans for roadway/highway facilities.

  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local design guidelines including the FDOT Florida Design Manual (FDM) and Standard Plans.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Experience delivering projects for FDOT.

  • Limited access, toll road, and interchange design experience is a plus.

  • Experience designing design build projects.

  • Proficiency in MicroStation and Open Roads Designer.
