Must have the following to apply:

• Must have own tools
• Five years directly related ship building/ship repair experience
• Three years minimum supervisory experience within the ship repair or comparable industry
• Knowledge of marine-related equipment, ship repair techniques, sequencing of ship repair activities, and shipyard safety practices
• Ability to read blueprints and communicate the work scope to others
• The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measures, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals in US and metric conversion
• Ability to work in confined spaces as well as work above ground at heights of 50 feet or more
• Abilityto climb scaffolding or ride lifts
• Knowledge and understanding of USCG and ABS rules and regulations
• Ability to coordinate multiple information related to various projects simultaneously
• Effective leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• Bilingual is a plus

*Job Description:

The company is looking to hire an Outside Machinist Foreperson who will be responsible for planning and coordinating the efforts to attain quality, schedules, and objectives for the department and organization while motivating them to accomplish the work safely, correctly, and efficiently. Direct and supervise the Outside Machinist Department. This includes staff workers' requirements, material, job layout, and scheduling of work hours. This is a 2nd Shift position.

As an Outside Machinist Foreperson assist in development through training, productivity, and correction action if necessary as this is a responsibility for making the team accountable for the completion and correctness of their work.

Operate under quality, safety, environmental, and health regulations and policies. Be interested in working in a shipyard environment and find satisfaction in the work performed.
