ARAMARK Construction Project Manager, Dining Facilities (Hybrid Schedule) in Tempe, Arizona

Job Description

The Project Construction Project Manager is responsible for facilitating effective support of the leadership team. The focus of the position will be to assist in defining, leading and tracking of projects and helping to keep deliverables on-track and meet the project objectives.

Management would include:

? Schematic planning through design, construction and closeout. Manage diverse group of constituents to initiate and deliver projects of high aesthetic and functional quality, with very aggressive budget and schedule parameters.

? Ability to manage multiple projects in various locations within or outside a given geographic area.

? Conduct feasibility analysis for project requests and prepare comprehensive project budgets.

? Develop conceptual, design/ development and final total project budget estimates, and able to track all project cost against.

? Produce project master schedules with MS Project, and track progress.

? Coordinate technical activities on assigned projects.

? Solicit and review consultant and contractor proposals.

? Manage consultants and contractors to meet project parameters as contracted.

? Plan, schedule, and conduct engineering, design, and management of projects.

? Monitor work for compliance with applicable codes, industry standards, best practices, Aramark standards, and contract requirements.

? Provide technical expertise and provide creative solutions pertaining to engineering, design, and construction means, methods, and materials.

Job Responsibilities

Ideal candidates will be expected to have:

? Broad range architectural, food service design, and technical engineering (mechanical, plumbing, electrical) knowledge and awareness of details in order to be able to recognize when problems are developing in the various disciplines, and to initiate appropriate corrective actions.

? Effective communication and coordination among the internal and external participants and stakeholders.

? Manage collection and filing of information pertaining to planning, design, pre-construction, agency approvals, construction documentation, and closeout packages, for corporate and client records.

? Working knowledge of design and construction legal documents and contractual terms and conditions.

? Ability to coordinate project activities with client departments such as facilities maintenance, Public Safety, IT, Regulatory Affairs, Events, and administrators to ensure all parties are well-informed and that work proceeds on schedule with minimal impact.

? Working knowledge of health inspection review and process for dining facilities

? Working knowledge of hazardous materials, identification, and remediation means & methods.

? Research, prepare, and present reports and presentations as requested.

? Demonstrated analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.

? Strong interpersonal skills and expertise in working with diverse groups of individuals and building partnerships.

? Ability to assess and identify appropriate project resources and consultant needs across a variety of project types.

? Ability to establish priority needs in order to provide a high level of service to multiple clients at multiple locations.

? Must be an effective communicator, both written and oral, capable of addressing large audiences including executive, board, and cabinet members; faculty, staff and students; professional constituents and the general public.

? Exceptional judgment, integrity and discretion, and demonstrated ability to manage diverse personnel, think strategically, and delivery tactically.

? Extensive knowledge of project financial monitoring/tracking/reporting

? Acts as liaison with contracted architectural/engineering companies to ensure plan is being adhered to and needs met.

? Construction oversight responsibilities.

? Collaborates with the staff of facilities, physical plant, and various client appointed personnel to ensure smooth transitions for project planning through closeout and operations.

? Coordination of project close-out activities

? Maintains archival system including cataloging, scanning of documents into electronic format to be managed within electronic PM software.

? In the future, must be able to travel up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

? Experience in planning and construction of food/beverage or hospitality facilities highly preferred

? 5-10 years of demonstrated success in leading design and construction required Preferably in food/hospitality facilities.

? Proficient in MS Project

? Knowledge of Project Management Software Applications

? Degree in architecture, planning, engineering, or construction management, or related field required or equivalent work experience instead of the degree.
