Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in Thomasville, North Carolina

Description We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in Thomasville, North Carolina. In the role of HR Manager, you will be responsible for managing the HR function within our Paper/Packaging industry. You will be involved in various HR related tasks such as recruiting, payroll, employee relations, policy implementation, and compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the recruitment process for both hourly and salaried employees, including screening, interviewing, and onboarding.

• Handle payroll maintenance for both salaried and hourly staff.

• Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies and procedures.

• Administer various employee relations activities and programs to promote a high level of employee productivity.

• Act as a liaison between employees, management, and any union representatives.

• Evaluate employee programs, identify areas for improvement, and propose changes to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

• Maintain visibility and accessibility to all employees, providing guidance and counsel on HR policies and programs.

• Ensure open and clear communication channels are maintained between employees, management, and any union representatives.

• Handle personnel matters with a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.

• Plan and organize employee appreciation and service recognition events.

• Stay updated with current employment and labor laws, ensuring compliance with all relevant federal, state, or local employment laws.

• Administer employee benefits programs and provide guidance to employees and management.

• Conduct mandatory trainings such as harassment, drug and alcohol, and workplace violence.

• Ensure timely completion of performance appraisals. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a Human Resources role, preferably within the Paper/Packaging industry

• Proven track record in managing Benefit Functions across an organization

• Exceptional Communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively deal with all levels of management and staff

• Demonstrated experience in Compliance, ensuring all company policies and procedures adhere to local, state, and federal laws

• Strong background in Employee Relations, with an emphasis on conflict resolution and workplace harmony

• Experience in Hiring Processes, including job posting, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding

• Proven experience in Corporate Recruiting, identifying and attracting top-tier talent to the organization

• Knowledge and understanding of Safety Guidelines within the Paper/Packaging industry

• Ability to develop and implement Safety Programs to ensure a safe and healthy working environment

• Experience in delivering Safety Training, educating staff on the importance of safety in the workplace

• Previous responsibility for handling Workers Compensation claims, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
