WSP USA Designer, Land Development in Thornhill, Ontario
The Opportunity:
WSP is currently seeking recent university graduates to join our Land Development team, located at our Thornhill office. Reporting to the Land Development Manager, this position will be responsible for preliminary and detailed design plus project management for greenfield, brownfield, and infill land development projects throughout Ontario, with specific focus on the Greater Toronto Area. The position will provide a broad base of design experience intended to serve as a foundation for your career.

A day in the life:
Contribute in engineering design assignments in a team environment on large multinational / multisector project teams
Participate in the development of concept, preliminary and detailed engineering drawings, designs and plans, including plan & profiles, sections and details, for design, tender, construction and as-constructed drawing sets, and contract documents
Prepare reports and other project related documentation
Participate in project management and planning on various projects
Assist with preparing presentation materials and proposals
Undertake some field work as required
Other duties as assigned

Degree in civil engineering from an accredited university, with coursework to include urban water systems, municipal infrastructure, construction engineering, hydrology, and transit & transportation
Eligibility for EIT designation with Professional Engineers Ontario
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is an asset
Excellent MS Word and Excel abilities
Proficient in MS PowerPoint and Project is an asset
Ability to take initiative and attention to detail
Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Valid Ontario driver's license is an asset
