U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command Electronics Technician in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania

About the Position: Electronics Technician position in the Directorate of Production Engineering at Tobyhanna Army Depot. Responsibilities Collaborate with a team of technical experts to plan, direct, and perform the installation of complex systems, associated facilities, and radomes at various locations. Complete maintenance and repair for integrated electronics systems such as Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) or other Radio Frequency (RF) communications systems. Develop and evaluate new or modified electronic systems. Provide hardware and software support for Personal Computer (PC) users or communication devices with basic IP based networking knowledge. Follow High-Altitude electromagnetic Pulse (HEMP) Protection standards and perform Hardness Maintenance/Hardness Surveillance (HM/HS) on systems and facilities. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: GS-10: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Installing and/or repairing electronic systems; 2) Providing technical support to various electronic activities; AND 3) Assisting in the development of standard operating procedures for technical work on electronics and/or industrial systems. GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-10 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Preparing designs and recommending design changes to equipment or parts; 2) Utilizing computer software such as Logistic Modernization Project (LMP) to prepare documents and input data; AND 3) Developing standard operating procedures for technical work on electronics and/or industrial systems. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Electronics Oral Communication Problem Solving Project Management GS-10 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09). GS-11 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. Direct deposit of pay is required. One-year probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Program (CP) 16 - position. You may claim military spouse preference (MSP). If a MSP applicant is determined best qualified and selected, placement must be at the full performance level for priority consideration. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
