Nielsen Senior Editor, Editorial in Tokyo, Japan

The Editorial Senior works with the local Editorial team, supporting their team to produce the Japanese database within the international database. They will often act as a replacement for the team lead on a day to day basis. The Senior Editor, Editorial is expected to co-ordinate and lead the editorial team workflow, providing effective guidance on a day to day basis. You will develop a deep understanding of global systems and be responsible for supervising and providing workflow support to team members on a daily basis.

As a Senior Editor, you will be the contact point for the editorial team members, so your communication skills should be excellent. You should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

Ultimately, you should support the team by setting a good example and engage the editorial team to achieve the goals set out by the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily support of Enrichment team lead, overseeing the Editorial Workflow and assignments.

  • Support Editorial Team in the processing and creation of the Japan database, into our international data management system.

  • Training, onboarding and grooming the new hires and query resolution.

  • Doing quality checks and identifying training needs analysis. Running quality check reports over databases as required.

  • Resolve and investigate workflow efficiencies and issues with team lead.

  • Coordination of creation and maintenance of documentation.

  • Often will be a key member of projects to improve efficiency of tools and workflows prior to their implementation within the greater team to test, provide feedback and document.

  • Resolve client issues and requests

  • Represent Gracenote to international Gracenote teams, external clients and stakeholders.

Skills & Experience

  • A thorough understanding of metadata and its applications.

  • Good professional Japanese/English language both written and spoken.

  • Experienced using database content management systems.

  • Proactive approach to implementing workflow efficiencies.

  • Strong client service orientation and excellent communication skills.

  • Interested in and working knowledge of the local, national and international TV scene.
