Job Title: Diesel Mechanic - DAY SHIFT - UP TO $28/HR!

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. You will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing Freightliner and Volvo semi-trucks and trailers. Our fleet consists of 100 tractors and 200 trailers. You will perform a variety of repairs on trucks and trailers, including intakes, radiators, air conditioning compressors, oil pans, steering gears, and more. Additionally, you will troubleshoot electrical issues, perform aftermarket treatments on engines, and use basic computer skills to update progress and send emails.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Freightliner and Volvo semi-trucks and trailers.

• Perform repairs on intakes, radiators, air conditioning compressors, oil pans, steering gears, tie rods, alternators, oil changes, and more.

• Handle bumper-to-bumper repairs and chassis work.

• Change tires and brakes, including brake chambers.

• Perform body work on trailers, including replacing mirrors, antennas, windows, fifth wheels, mud flaps, cross members on the frame, differentials, air valves, and hoods.

• Troubleshoot electrical issues up to 12v, including HVAC, windshield wipers, and lighting.

• Diagnose and perform aftermarket treatments on engines, cabs, and emissions in Freightliner and Volvo trucks.

• Perform MIG welding and fabricating as needed.

• Use basic computer skills to log progress and send emails.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of diesel mechanic experience.

• Ability to replace tires and change brakes.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues on tractors and trailers.

• Experience with bumper-to-bumper repairs.

• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.

• Valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with engine diagnostics, diesel maintenance, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.

• Ability to read blueprints and perform welding.

Work Environment

This position is based in a recycling yard, which can be dirty, dusty, cold in the winter, and hot in the summer. All repairs are performed inside a bay with little to no outside repair work. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM, with flexible hours as long as you complete 45 hours a week. This is a direct hire position, and we currently have two openings available.
